Symbol configuration file with data type "Reference" cannot be read (eliminated starting from PLC Designer V3.6)

Eliminated from:
PLC Designer V3.6

Behaviour of the new version:
The PLC Designer no longer writes variables of the "Reference" data type to the symbol configuration file. Therefore, VisiWinNET can open the file correctly.

What happens?
Reading an xml symbol configuration file created by the PLC Designer using the LogicAndMotionV3 driver in VisiWinNet is cancelled with the following error message:
XmlFile is not valid against the schemafile!
System.Xml.Schema.XmlSchemaValidationException: The required attribute 'size' is not available.

When does this behaviour occur?
The above-described behaviour occurs if variables of the "Reference" type have been selected in the symbol configuration of the PLC Designer.

Which products are concerned?
PLC Designer from V3.5

Short-term measures:
Remove all variables of the "Reference" type from the symbol configuration of the PLC Designer and recompile the PLC project. The newly created xml symbol configuration file can be read properly by VisiWinNet. Variables are displayed in VisiWinNet and can be inserted.

Evaluation/recommendations:
The xml symbol configuration file is used to import variables which are used in VisiWinNet. If the xml symbol configuration file contains variables of the "Reference" type, reading is aborted in VisiWinNet and no variables (even not variables of a type other than the "Reference" type) are displayed in the VisiWinNet selection dialog.
