PLC Designer crash after compiling (corrected from V3.14)

Corrected from:
PLC Designer V3.14

Response of the new version:
Projects created with PLC Designer V2.x can be opened and compiled with PLC Designer V3.x. After this, user actions are still possible.

What happens?
The PLC Designer no longer responds to user actions.

The I/O module coupler is not available below the controller in the device tree of the PLC Designer project.

When does this behaviour occur?
The above-described behaviour occurs if a project which was created with PLC Designer V2.x is opened with PLC Designer V3.x and the control system is migrated to a 3200 C or 3241 C controller. After starting the compilation process, the PLC Designer no longer responds to user actions.

Which products are affected?
PLC Designer from V3.6

Short-term measures:
If the PLC Designer no longer responds to user actions, exit the PLC Designer via the Windows Task Manager.

To migrate a PLC Designer project from V2.x to V3.x, update the controller via the menu item "Update device" in the context menu after opening your project with PLC Designer V3.x.

Evaluation/recommendations:
When migrating a project from PLC Designer version 2.x to V3.x, PLC Designer V3.x may crash. The above-described short-term measure provides a workaround for this function restriction.
