Response of the new version:
The PLC Designer remains operable if "Reset" or "Stop" is executed in simulation mode. No error message appears.
What happens?
In simulation mode, an hourglass appears in the PLC Designer for approx. 5 minutes. After this, a window with an error message appears which is to be confirmed with "OK".
When does this behaviour occur?
The above-described behaviour occurs if a "Reset" or "Stop" is carried out in simulation mode.
Which products are affected?
PLC Designer V3.9 and higher
Short-term measures:
Log out (here, as well, the hourglass will appear for approx. 5 minutes) and exit the simulation mode. For this, deactivate the menu item "Simulation" in the "Online" menu.
Evaluation/recommendations:
In general, the simulation mode is used if a PLC program is to be tested and the required controller is not available. If "Reset" or "Stop" is executed in simulation mode, the PLC Designer no longer responds for approx. 5 minutes.
