Visualisation: Error message in the case of text input with limits (corrected from V3.12)

Corrected from:

PLC Designer V3.12

Response of the new version:

When using visualisation elements with the input types "Text input" or "Text input with limits", there won't be displayed any error messages.

What happens?
After opening the visualisation page, the following error messages are displayed in the message window of the PLC Designer:

  • Calls cannot be used in expressions.
  • Invalid expressions VisuDlg_SetErrorColor((UDINT_TO_DINT((FLAGS) AND VisuElems.Visu_InputFlags.ErrorMax))=VisuElems.Visu_InputFlags.ErrorMax) configured: Calls cannot be used in expressions. This function is only supported for the Target Visualization.
When does this behaviour occur?
The error messages appear when opening a visualisation page online in the PLC Designer which uses visualisation elements with the input types "Text input" or "Text input with limits".

Which products are affected?
PLC Designer V3.9 and higher

Short-term measures:
Do not use the input type "Text input" or "Text input with limits" when configuring visualisation elements.

Evaluation/recommendations:
Via the visualisation elements you can also enter values. I.e. the values of variables can be changed online via the visualisation elements. Typically, the "Standard" input type is used for this. Due to the above function restriction, it is not possible to use the input types "Text input" and "Text input with limits".
