Corrected from:
PLC Designer V3.9.1 (service pack 1)
Response of the new version:
An "LM_FreeEncoder" device appended to an I/O 1000 counter module can be deleted without appearance of an error message.
What happens?
When deleting an "LM_FreeEncoder" under a counter disc on the backplane bus, the "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." error message appears. Neither the encoder nor the counter disc can be deleted after this.
When does this behaviour occur?
The behaviour occurs if the "LM_FreeEncoder" was appended to an I/O 1000 counter module (e.g. EPM-S600) in a PLC Designer project for an L-force Motion controller (type 4102) and you try to delete the counter module or the "LM_FreeEncoder".
Which products are affected?
PLC Designer V3.9 and higher
Short-term measures:
Please contact the Lenze Service if the "LM_FreeEncoder" device can no longer be removed from the PLC Designer project.
In the case of projects for L-force Motion controllers, append the "L_SMC_FreeEncoder" device to the I/O 1000 counter modules.
Evaluation/recommendations:
If the "LM_FreeEncoder" device is used in a project for an L-force Motion controller, an error message occurs. Therefore, the project cannot be loaded to a controller. Deleting the "LM_FreeEncoder" device is not possible.
