PLC Designer: Device Repository includes entries with the same name. (No modifications planned)
Corrected from: PLC Designer V3: (no modifications planned)
Response of the new version:
Only a few device will be effected and the problem can't be solved by means of practicable measures.
That's why no modifications are planned.
What happens?
If a wrong subnode type has been inserted because the names of the subnode types in the Device Repository were not unambiguous, the drive cannot be operated.
When does this behaviour occur?
The behaviour occurs if a wrong subnode type was selected when performing the 'Update device' function in the PLC Designer and an inadequate device description has been assigned as a result.
The Device Repository of the PLC Designer contains entries with identical names. The entries in question are so-called logic subnodes. Although their names are identical in the first view, they stand for differerent device functionalities:
2x LenzeLogicDrive_CAN_94HL V3.1.0.0
2x LenzeLogicDrive_CAN_94HL V3.4.0.0
2x LenzeLogicDrive_ETC_94HL V3.1.0.0
2x LenzeLogicDrive_ETC_94HL V3.4.0.0
The entries with identical names can be clearly distinguished by means of the corresponding ID number (click 'Details'):
ID: 1028 0191 ==> Speed actuating drive
ID: 1028 0192 ==> Table positioning
Which products are affected?
- PLC Designer
Short-term measures:
Use the ID number under 'Details' to select the correct subnode type and assign the adequate device description.
Evaluation/recommendations:
The subnode types can be unambiguously distinguished by means of their ID number.
