What happens?
After an interruption of the connection with a Profibus slave, the slave concerned continues to be displayed with a green icon in the device tree of the PLC Designer. The Device.GetDeviceState method of the corresponding slave continues to send the value 'RUNNING'.
When does this behaviour occur?
The behaviour occurs if a 'PROFIBUS' device (Profibus\DP master\PROFIBUS) with version V3.12.0.0 has been inserted into the device tree of the PLC Designer project.
Which products are affected?
PLC Designer from V3.12
Short-term measures:
Go to the 'Information' tab of the 'PROFIBUS' device and check if the device version is V3.12.0.0. If so, update the 'PROFIBUS' device to version V3.6.0.0
To insert version V3.6.0.0 or to update the device to this version, activate the Display all versions (for experts only) checkbox in the corresponding dialog.
Evaluation/recommendations:
Via the MC-PBM option interface, you can add a Profibus master to the 3200C and the p500 controllers. Due to the above function restriction, an interruption in communication with a Profibus slave cannot be detected in the PLC program. An applicative solution is described under 'Short-term measures'.
