If a PLC Designer project is opened by double-clicking on the project file in Windows Explorer, no exception appears.

When opening a PLC Designer project, a dialog with the following message appears:
Unhandled exception has occurred in your application...
After that a dialog with the following message appears:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
When does this behaviour occur?
If a PLC Designer project is opened by double-clicking the project file in the Windows Explorer, very rarely, an exception occurs. The behaviour is project-dependent, i.e. if a project is affected, the behaviour will always occur.

Short-term measures:
Start the PLC Designer (e.g. from the EASY Navigator) and open the PLC project via the 'File>Open Project' menu command. In this way, the project will be opened without exception.
