Corrected from:
PLC Designer V3.20
Response of the new version:
The EtherCAT bus becomes operational, regardless of whether the boot application was created automatically during the download or only subsequently.
What happens?
The boot application starts, but the EtherCAT bus does not become operational.
When does this behaviour occur?
The function restriction may occur if the boot application was created automatically during the download. This can be set by
- the checkbox "Download boot application with download" in the dialog when logging in to the controller
or by
- the checkbox "Create implicit boot application on download" in the properties of the 'Application' object (tab 'Boot application').
In this case, the configuration file for the EtherCAT master is not created when the boot application is created, so that either an outdated configuration file or no configuration file at all becomes part of the boot application.
Furthermore, the firmware and parameter set files of the connected EtherCAT devices are not transferred, so that an obsolete firmware and / or parameter set is used.
Which products are affected?
PLC Designer as of V3.10
Short-term measures:
Create the boot application online using the menu command Online > Create boot application for Lenze devices.
Evaluation/recommendations:
When downloading the project, the boot application can also be created at the same time. Due to the functional limitations, it is possible that a file necessary for the EtherCAT master is not created. Short-term measures describe an applicative solution.
