Boot application starts with "Access Violation" exception after online change (corrected from V3.22)

Corrected from:
PLC Designer V3.22

Response of the version:
If a boot project is created after an online change, no "Access Violation" exception occurs when starting this boot application.

What happens?
The boot application starts with an "Access Violation" exception.

When does this behaviour occur?
The function restriction may occur when a boot project was created and transferred to the controller after an online change.

Which products are affected?
PLC Designer from V3.0

Short-term measures:
  • When the function restriction occurs, load the project including the boot project again to the controller. Check if the controller starts the boot project correctly after mains switching.
  • Install the 'OnlineChangePatch.compiled-library' library in the Library Repository of the PLC Designer.
    How to proceed:
    1. Copy the 'OnlineChangePatch.zip file (8.45kB)' to a directory on your PC.
    2. Unpack the zip file.
    3. Open the 'Library Repository' dialog (menu Tools>Library Repository) in the PLC Designer and install the unzipped file.
The function restriction will no longer occur after inserting the library into the Library Manager of your PLC project. For this, you need not call a function block or function from the library in the project.

Evaluation/recommendations:

After starting the controller, an exception may occur as a result of which the application cannot be started. The function restriction may occur when loading the boot project to the controller after an online change. An applicative solution is described under 'Short-term measures'. So far, the function restriction has only been observed when using an Ethernet/IP adapter in the project.
