Alarms and trend data are not saved

What happens?
Alarms and trend data are not saved. The logbook contains the following error messages:
  • Opening file '...' with flags 102 failed!
  • No more write access to the trend storage will be performed
  • Some kind of disk I/= error occurred. Check disk space

PLC processing sporadically stops with an exception.

When does this behaviour occur?

The above-described behaviour may occur if the 'No limitation' default setting is selected in the 'Alarm configuration' object for the alarm buffer or the maximum memory size is set too high. The same behaviour may occur if the trend memory size is selected too high or 'No limitation' is set in the 'Trend Recording Manager' object.

Which products are affected?
PLC Designer V3.0 and higher

Short-term measures:
Select 16MB as maximum memory size for the alarm and the trend memory.

Evaluation/recommendations:
The above function restriction may occur when the 'Alarm configuration' or the 'Trend Recording Manager' object has been inserted in your PLC Designer project and the maximum memory size for these object has been set too high.
