Corrected from:
PLC Designer V3.21.2
Response of the new version:
When PLC Designer is started, user device descriptions imported into EASY Package Manager are also automatically installed in the PLC Designer device repository.
What happens?
A device description (*.LPK) located in the 'User device descriptions' folder of the EASY Package Manager is not automatically installed in the device repository when PLC Designer is started. This means that the device for which the user device description was created cannot be attached to the EtherCAT Master of a controller in the PLC project, for example.
When does the behaviour occur?
PLC Designer can be used to create a device description (*.LPK) of a device in a PLC project (menu command 'Project' > 'EASY Export'). This device description can be imported with the EASY Package Manager and is then located in the 'User device description' folder. When PLC Designer is started, these user device descriptions are not automatically installed in the PLC Designer device repository as is the case with standard device descriptions.
Which products are affected?
PLC Designer from V3.21
Short-term measures:
None.
Evaluation/Recommendations:
User device descriptions exported with PLC Designer are not installed in the device repository of PLC Designer. This means that these devices cannot be used as slaves in the PLC project. This concerns user device descriptions for the Lenze Servo Inverter i950.
