Function extension:
- The x750 gateway provides a bidirectional connection for integrating CAN devices on the EtherCAT bus.
- The communication EtherCAT <> CAN is not deterministic, so that no control loops can be realised between EtherCAT and CAN.
- The gateway is able to generate a telegram with constant content with a highly accurate clock.
Note: The operating instructions have been published on www.lenze.com.
Contained in which products?
- Configuration is possible from PLCDesigner 3.26.
- The gateway is supported by the c500 controller series.

Application:
- Integration of CAN devices (e.g. sensors) in the EtherCAT communication
- Use in the replacement of existing CAN solutions
- Use with existing systems if no original spare parts are available.
Supported devices:
- All devices imported directly from the CANopen device description file (*.eds) can be used with the x750 CANopen Manager.
- The EDS files for the Lenze devices can be found under the following link: https://www.lenze.com/en-de/go/akb/200413930/1/
- The CANopen devices 8400, 9400 (except CiA 402), i500 and Lenze Generic Drive available in the PLC Designer are supported from PLC Designer version 3.26 onwards.
All other Lenze devices and the following Lenze device functions are not supported:
- FAST Motion Axis Reference
- FreeEncoder Reference (LM FreeEncoder)
- FastIO Reference (FastIO_InRef, FastIO_OutRef)
- Parameter set download (especially with the EPM-S110, integration must take place via the EDS file)
- Gateway function for the Lenze Engineering Tools
Project planning recommendation:
- Up to 10 CAN participants per gateway with one RxPDO and TxPDO with 8 bytes of data per participant.
- Cycle time EtherCAT = 1/3 * cycle time CAN
