Lenze Component Directory: Recording data on components used

The "Lenze Component Directory" (LCD) function provides data on the hardware and software components used.

Installed hardware components:

In PLC Designer projects of the Lenze Controller c430, c520 and c550 there is now the global variable list 'GVL_ComponentHardware'. When Lenze devices are added to the EtherCAT master of the controller, these Lenze devices are automatically entered in this variable list. In addition, the Lenze Controller reads the following device properties at runtime in accordance with OPC UA DI and makes them available via OPC UA:

  • device class
  • hardware revision
  • manufacturer
  • product code
  • serial number
  • software revision

Software components:

The PLC Designer automatically creates the file 'ComponentDirectoryApplicationSW.json'. This file complies with the 'CycloneDX' security standard and contains information on all libraries used in the PLC project and basic data on the application.

When the boot application is created in the Lenze Controller, this file is automatically saved in the 'ComponentDirectory' subdirectory of the SD card.

With the Lenze Component Directory, the security requirements according to IEC 62443-3-3 (11.10 SR 7.8-Control system component inventory) are fulfilled for the machine manufacturer and system provider.
